Thank you for a good agm. Really appreciated it and could see the hard work that was put into it. Well done to Alida Jones. She is the heart of SAIDI and it was a shame that she received a lousy bunch of flowers for all her hard work. The tiredness was visible on her face but the smile stayed there. I applaud her on a job well done.

I was shocked to see the negativity among the member when a higher fee was suggested and also the shocked reaction on the treasurer's face. Surely he has a very difficult job to try and pay for everything with only a few members paying and then only R80 per year. To me that was shocking to think we expect so much and we only pay this small amount. Surely we can afford to pay more. I was shocked to see the reaction of the secretary by bluntly saying that she feels the same. She of all people should know how much money is needed to run an organisation such as SAIDI.

The suggestion of a salary to the pro is very good and i think we should seriously think about that as this is a possition that in the future will be worth our while. Just think of the growth that has taken place in this short while. Imagine what can happen in the future. DOES SAIDI REALLY NEED PEOPLE WHO ONLY WANTS TO SHARE INTHE GOOD BUT DOES NOT WANT TO CONTRIBUTE TO HELP THE GOOD GROW. Lets take time and think about this.

Well done Alida and your and you are worth far more than gold.

thank you for the AGM last night in Muizenberg.The event was welcome and most members attending enjoy the evening.We had to plan the time schedule more tighter to avoid members become board.

Guest speakers had to be more shorter and on the point on any topic.

It was the first meeting attended by me , and I fexperience the rithm of future development and organising.

Thank you for the effort and inpu of the Commitee. I would like to thank the Institute for confidance in accepting me as a member of the Management.

Working in the Cape Town area

I am a Driving Instructor in Reading, England. My wife and I intend to move to the Cape Town area in approximately two years time. I would like to know if I can work as an Instructor and what training or retraining I would have to do.

I am 54 years old. I qualified in England in 2001 and currently have a franchise with a Driving School. My pass rate for 2006 was nearly 50% (45 Driving Tests, 23 passes and 10 of those were first attempts). I am also an Advanced Driver, I passed the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Test in 2005. I also work for a company called DriveTech (UK) Ltd who supply Driver Improvement Schemes, Speed Awareness Courses and Fleet Training for drivers employed by companies. I do the Driver Improvement and Speed Awareness courses.

Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

i would like to see more info on traffic departments in the western cape ( location & telephone numbers). Also more help in finding driving schools out there. try to make this site more inter active.

Hi There

The are no telephone numbers nor physical adress details on your website. I need to book with a driving school and need advice on reputable companies that are registered with SAIDI. As it is there is no way of verifying that info on your website, anybody can claim that they are registered with SAIDI. It would be helpful to speak to a real person instead of filling in a form and waiting for a reply.
